The Main Lodge houses the Restaurant and Rathskellar/fireplace lounge plus 3 Bed and Bath rooms for couples, Small families have a choice of two bedroom lodgings with kitchens and fireplace * 2 private woodland secluded chalets (hold 2-6)

Relax as Einstein did on the waters of pristine Lake Clear. Time has virtually stood still since he wandered our shores in contemplation. The lake, crystal and clear, sculpting its namesake through the meandering calls of our loons. Nature, in complete symphony with the stillness. In the winter, our shores offer a timeless, white billowing table to gliding, snow covered skis. Secluded and unknown, its placid reflections melding the worlds between heaven and earth in a blazing fireworks of colors as the sun sets in the cradle of the St. Regis Mountain Range.

In this idyllic setting four generations ago, co-proprietor Cathy (Fisher-Otis) Hohmeyer's family - notable 19th C pioneers and Adirondack craftsmen - originally built the main lodge in 1886. Three generations later warmed by the flame of Ernest's Old World family, an essence has been created stirred by this spirit.

Each generation of family and guests have inscribed the Lodge with a sense of what is new and what is timeless.

Today our 25-acre Lake Clear Lodge & Retreat is the culmination of this energy. Our 1886 main Adirondack lodge welcomes you as one of the last of its kind and within its original walls is the heart and soul of our experience: our culinary magic. Four generations where the owner has always been the chef, have each added to nurtured traditions creating an original fusion cuisine of local "100 mile" Adirondack focused foods with Old World flair. This enduring lineage of generational chefs spiced by seasonal and individualistic self-expression has become an internationally recognized culinary destination.

Our 1886 main lodge is canvassed by our new Lake-view Retreat Center, personalized B&B rooms, meticulous hand-crafted cabins and romantic suites. All inspired by our families Adirondack Great Camp artisan traditions. Each has a story to tell honored by the legacy of family craftsmanship Ð and stewardship. In eco-conscious fashion much of what warms your eye has been milled from the estate and each has been touched by the discerning eye of several generations.

Over time we have culled a unique artisan style: luxurious without pretension, imaginative within natural subtlety and personalized character that carries on our sense of place.

Like a hub in the spokes of diversity that defines the Adirondack Mountain dome, day trips may include, Paul Smith's College VIC (7 minutes), New York State's only wilderness canoe region (3 minutes); The Wild Center (25 minutes); historic Saranac Lake (12 minutes) and the Olympic village of Lake Placid (25 minutes).
