It is the 1800's in the Adirondack wilderness and you find yourself in a fireside chat in an Adirondack historical lodge espousing on the future of man and nature with the likes of Ralph Waldo Emerson who participated in a "Philosophers Camp" not far from our door. In the crystal clear morning as the sun rises over New York State's only wilderness canoe region your meandering eye catches Albert Einstein sailing on secluded Lake Clear.
Immerse...
You are winding down from an interactive day of thought provoking ideas and memories filled with the melodic rippling of sunlit canoes or crystal snow-capped skis. All are painted with idle chatter of conversations you have not had in years. The deep breathes of cool, clear mountain air relaxes and stimulates in a way that reawakens you for something new, that has both an intellectual and heart-felt savory spice. Aromas of wild game and fresh vegetables seasoned with Adirondack herbs are hand-picked by your Adirondack culinary guide.
Continue your conversations with an interactive Philosopher's Pub fireside chat. Your senses spurred by the delicacies prepared by two families that fuse Adirondack pioneering traditions with Old World flair. Adirondack grass-fed sautes, stews and Old World smoked biers whet the palate finished with savory linzer tortes and chocolate canoes.

An Adirondack Desination...
We are in the midst of one of the largest examples of private-public land stewardship in the world: the 6 million acre Adirondack Park.
The uniqueness of the Lodge is that we can offer you a cosmopolitan experience: from the serenity of our 25 acres with 3 acres and private beach on Lake Clear as part of the St. Regis Wilderness canoe region to being on the door step of the Olympic region with historic Saranac Lake and Lake Placid home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Games.
Humanists, artisans, writers, poets, and historically recognized environmentalists have made the Adirondacks their home and have been influenced by its beauty.
Our 1886 main Lodge is a holistic part of this Adirondack alpine history as one of the last original lodges still open to the public fused with 21 C amenities of eco-chalets, hydrotherapy steam showers, the Adirondacks only hand-crafted Wine & Beer Cellar and our new hand-crafted lake-view Retreat Center.
